Our Story

The Libby Clinic was established in 1977 by Dr. Greg Rice, and was the first family practice clinic in the town of Libby, MT. It has been continuously open and operating since that time, and it’s founder Dr. Rice just retired in 2021 after more than 40 years of service to the community of Libby.

We still function as the only privately owned clinic in south Lincoln County. This allows our patients the unique ability to maintain a personal connection and relationship with their providers, as the physicians, PAs, and nurse practitioners who practice at the clinic maintain their own schedules and design their own practices. What this means for you as a patient is a provider who is able to see you on-time and for longer than just a 15 minute office visit. We are constantly striving to make sure your provider and their teams are readily available to help with any questions or concerns, as the patient-provider relationship is our top priority.

The Libby Clinic also serves as a training site for many different health care professionals, and we are committed to the ongoing education and training of the next generation of providers. Dr. Jarrett and Dr. Gunther hold clinical faculty appointments at the University of Washington, and host medical students at different times throughout the year. We also serve as a training site for many Physician Assistant and Nurse Practitioner students.

In 2010 we also established a formal relationship with the Spokane VA to provide VA services locally to the many veterans who reside in Lincoln County. We are proud to continue serving those who served our country.
